Privacy policy and advertising disclosure

What we collect
This site does not set its own cookies and does not run advertising scripts of its own. The only analytics is Cloudflare Web Analytics (see below). We do not ask you to create an account.
- Server logs. The site is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes technical data (IP address, browser type, requested pages) to deliver the pages and protect the site, under Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We see only aggregated counts.
- Analytics. We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not follow you across sites. We see only totals: which pages were viewed, where visitors came from (the referring site), country and device type.
- Instagram embeds. Some café pages show one public post from the café’s official Instagram account using Instagram’s embed script. When such a page loads, your browser connects to Instagram (Meta Platforms) and Meta may set cookies or collect data under Meta’s privacy policy. No images are stored on this site.
- Forms. The form for café owners is hosted by Notion. What you enter there is stored in Notion and used only to update the café’s page or to reply to you.
- E-mail. Mail to info@fureaijapan.com is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a mailbox we operate. We keep correspondence as long as needed to handle your request.
Links to other sites
Café pages link to each café’s official website, to Google Maps (map and transit directions) and, where a café is listed there, to Japanese booking sites such as Jalan. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We do not pass any personal data to them; the map links contain only the café’s name or Google place identifier.
Advertising and paid links
Fureai Japan is free to use and is not paid by any café for its listing. To cover running costs we may place a small number of paid links (affiliate links) on English pages — for example to travel eSIM, pocket Wi-Fi or hotel booking services. If you buy through such a link we may earn a commission; the price you pay is the same.
- Every paid link is marked “Ad / Paid link” right next to the link, and the page says at the top that it contains paid links.
- Paid links never affect which cafés we list, their order, or what we say about them. Listing is based only on the public register and our daily opening check.
- We do not sell experiences that involve touching animals, and we do not take bookings for cafés ourselves.
- Booking links to Jalan or Asoview on café pages may also be affiliate links; they are marked in the same way.
As of 19 October 2026 the following affiliate programmes may be used: none yet. This list is updated when a programme is added.
Café data
Information about cafés comes from public registers of Type 1 Animal Handling Businesses published by local governments, and from each café’s official website. We do not publish the names of applicants or representatives from the registers. A café can ask us to correct or remove its photos or Instagram embed at any time by e-mail, or through the owners’ form on the Japanese site.
